The Sussex ME/CFS Society
is the registered charity that informs,
supports and represents those affected by ME/CFS (Myalgic
Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) in East Sussex,
West Sussex, Brighton & Hove, and Kent.
Several informal support group meetings have been set up by members of the society for people suffering from ME/CFS to meet and share ideas and experiences. You do not have to be a member of the society to come along.
One such group currently meets on the second Wednesday of every month at The Pavilion café in Seaford (map). It starts at 11am. There is a car park nearby in Richmond Road. Additional meetups are occasionally held at other times, too.

If you would be interested in coming along, please contact Oliver by

I am
34 years old and I live in Seaford. I developed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome following Glandular Fever whilst
at University in Kent. The early years of the illness were the hardest for me, dealing with such a drastic change
in my life at an early age. I have come to terms with it more in recent years but I have found the isolation
of the illness difficult and that's why I felt like starting and running local support meetings.
In addition, I do a couple
of hours of voluntary work every week, and I help to run
M.E. Support.
The son-in-law of one of the members of our ME groups is running the Brighton half-marathon on 21st February. He is doing so in order to raise funds for the ME Association. If you would like to sponsor him for the run, he has set up a Just Giving donation page. Funds go directly to the ME Association. The web page is: http://www.justgiving.com/Ben-Reilly.
