The Sussex ME/CFS Society
is the registered charity that informs,
supports and represents those affected by ME/CFS (Myalgic
Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) in East Sussex,
West Sussex, Brighton & Hove, and Kent.
Several informal support group meetings have been set up by members of the society for people suffering from ME/CFS to meet and share ideas and experiences. You do not have to be a member of the society to come along.
One such group currently meets on the Last Wednesday of every month at Fiesta Bistro in Eastbourne (map). It starts at 11:00am. There is no meeting in December.

If you would be interested in coming along to our meetup, please contact Oliver

I am
34 years old and I live in Seaford. I developed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome following Glandular Fever whilst
at University in Kent. The early years of the illness were the hardest for me, dealing with such a drastic change
in my life at an early age. I have come to terms with it more in recent years but I have found the isolation
of the illness difficult and that's why I felt like starting and running local support meetings.
In addition, I do a couple
of hours of voluntary work every week, and I help to run
M.E. Support.
The son-in-law of one of the members of our ME groups is running the Brighton half-marathon on 21st February. He is doing so in order to raise funds for the ME Association. If you would like to sponsor him for the run, he has set up a Just Giving donation page. Funds go directly to the ME Association. The web page is: http://www.justgiving.com/Ben-Reilly.
We have a report by the Eastbourne Fibro Group of the talk which was held by Professor Puri in Eastbourne on 16 April 2009. Read the report.
